Paint chip Pieces
My First piece I chose the paint chip color called Air Kiss, and I wrote
a fictional piece as follows.
The fact of me having the privilege of meeting the king and queen of Great
Britain is exhilarating beyond belief. I
am actually a U.S. represenitive and I’m traveling to Great Britain to meet the
king and queen as said above. Am I nervous
you ask? Yes and No, Yes because this is kind of a big deal and the fact of I might
screw this up does in fact scare me. Also no because I’ve met millions of
famous people in my career. As I approach the building I was quickly
interrupted by the guards standing at the doors, they softly said “we have to
search you, it because of protocols” so we followed through the big, iron,
heavy doors into a room where the real king and queen of Great Britain were
meeting us for a discussion of politics. So I walk up to the king and sternly shook
his hand as he greeted me and I greeted back. Next was the queen, now I had to
be professional so I grabbed her delightful hand and kissed it as a gentlemen is supposed to do. And to be
more gentlemen like I gave her an air kiss on both cheeks as a kind of icing on
the cake per say.
My second piece is focused on the style of poetry called haiku, the
following two pieces are as stated above in the fact.
“Sea Spray”
“Sea Spray”
The spray of the sea
Stings the air beyond the ocean
Nestled underneath
“Orange Sherbet”
A childhood dream
A childhood color orange
Just nicely throughout
My third piece is rather odd if you think about it, it deals with a
strip of a color with its different shades. I had to make a line for each color
and it supposed to make a poem.
“The softest lace
Acted like a gaze of crystal
Making a lavender spike
Essential in vineyards
While I endure purple shades
Leaving like a swift hawk”
My last piece is considered by myself to bring back childhood
memories, I took a color which is Heart of gold and wrote the word vertically
and wrote a line for each letter as follows.
H-onoring his promise
E-nduring hardships
A-t the strongest moment
R-ight in the middle of
T-omorrow and tonight
O-on the sea of depression
F-or the wind to blow like
G-alantly driven horses and
O-verly sophisticated eagles
L-ike the spirit of tribal Indians
D-arkness persists underneath

Your "Air Kiss" piece reminded me of being outside of Buckingham Palace this past summer on my trip to Europe. We saw the famous Changing of the Guard but no queen. Our tour guide told us lots of fun stories about her though. I like the Heart of Gold piece and the way you've mixed beautiful golden thoughts with darker ones. Thanks, Tanner!
